If me and my friends matchmake and we boost xp.... how can we get banned if no one know and on one reports us?

In Halo: 3 ODST I have been working on the campaign and for some reason whenever I get to a certain point it always sends me back to "Tayari Plaza". This is really starting to **** me off, so any help would be appreciated.
