Can i still get recon armor in halo 3 odst if i don't have halo 3?

it says in odst that you can just unlock recon armor but it says something about challenges you have to get done in multiplayer for it but odst is coming with all the halo 3 map packs and original maps i dont know if you can get them done with odst or if you have to get halo 3
