Can I transfer XBOX 360 Halo 3 replays to a memory unit?

My boyfriend and I have quite a few Halo 3 replays that we saved and we want to bring it to the PC and then upload it to YouTube. But, if we buy a memory unit, and a transfer kit that plugs into the memory unit and a usb port on a computer, should I be able to transfer the files from the xbox 360's hard drive and then to the memory unit, and convert the gamesave on my computer to a playable video source, such as wmv, avi or something? I don't want to purchase a capture card, because we play on a 24" HD widescreen monitor and I'm not sure if a capture card plugs into that.

It's not gonna be possible to upload your replays to Youtube, because Bungie designed the replay mode to save game data, not video files, in order to lower file size. When you save a replay, you're actually saving a record of what happened during the session, not a video. If you watch a replay again, the game is running that record in real time, kind of like a recreation or reenactment.

However, it's possible to get your videos on Youtube without expensive hardware. I've never done it myself, but I've heard alot about it. It uses some website called GeeVee. There is a tutorial video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQd1eGLOdiU&NR=1
