Disconnecting from Halo 3 Campaign?

Whenever I play campaign with my friend it disconnects, I can play custom games and matchmaking fine with him though. Please tell me whats wrong and how I can fix it because it's getting really annoying.

you need to both have open nat types and you both need good connections
try turning off all other non essential things using your connection E.G computers. ipod touches and iphones are fine though.
