do you need to play halo 1 before halo 2?

Im borrowing my friends xbox and he loaned me Halo 2. I have only played online with friends in halo 3, so i am wondering if i should ask him for halo 1 before starting halo 2, or just play halo 2?

It wouldn't really make much of a difference but you would probably be better off with getting Halo 1 first. If you are used to playing the game generally then it's ok to just go onto Halo 2. Good Luck

Trust me. There is no online component in halo 1 worth playing. Halo 2's multiplayer is extremely identical to halo 3's. There's very little difference. And the Halo storyline is something I find easy to pick up even from Halo 3.
