Does the xbox 360 count how many times you die in halo 3?

i just got my xbox 360 and halo 3 was the first shooting game i played on it. i just got used to the controls and obviously died alot of times, playing it on normal, since im used to the pc. just out of curiosity, does the xbox count how many times you die? and where can i see? thanks

It does, but not for viewing, it does it internally, and makes sure you can't see it, they store it in the saved games files.

type in your gamertag and you can view all your stats campaign and online, use the people finder on the right
