Halo 3 forge mode help?

I made a map on forge mode and i deleted all of the spawns except for the ones in a battle pit i made. But when i made a ew game mode and went to my forge map, I wouldnt respawn in the pit. Id respawn on the map default respawn points. HELP!!!
