Halo 3 freezes during setup of custom game. Why?

Whenever im selecting a map, settings, or during the countdown, the xbox completely freezes. No lights or messages. I cant even turn it off with holding down the button on the controller. This is NOT my first disc or my first xbox. Thank You

Hate to tell you, but that sounds like a very unique and uncommon problem. Your only option is to call 1-800-4-MY-XBOX to get this situated out. I wish the best of luck to you.

or if if it doesnt work get a new one
