Halo 3 question?

I want to get outside a map in halo. I know the only way of doing this is going through the death barrier or overloading the barrier and then going into theater. Can someone explain how to do this?

on some maps, like the pit in forge, you can spawn a teleporter outside the fence. it is hard, and only lasts seconds, but it works. It is easiest done with a friend.
