Halo 3 Team Doubles Glitch?

In halo 3 ranked team doubles matchmaking how do you play with a person you know that's on the other team.

This has happened to me so many times, when my teammate is actually helping the other team, and I lose easily.

The only way is to prefer the player(s), then click on the matchmaking button at this same time. It is all luck. Greater chance, if you click like by language, connection, or player skill
