Halo movie?

Is the halo movie declared canceled? my friend says its not, i gave him evedince twice(ign, and g4) and he still says it aint true, i guess the question is...more evidence?

"Halo" was a proposed film based on the video game series, developed by Bungie Studios. The film was to be directed by Peter Jackson with Neill Blomkamp as executive producer. The film had a target release date of summer 2008 but production had been postponed until 2009 due to production financing. Fox picked up the project in October 2006.

There is a Halo Movie in the works? That's a GREAT idea! They'd be fools to cancel it!

This may be associated to the break up of Microsoft and Bungie Studio's. The gaming company that makes the Halo games is splitting from Microsoft due to "disagreements".
