How do I earn Recon Armor in halo 3?

I am a pretty good halo 3 player, but I want to add a extra twist in my armor collection. How do I earn the recon armor? I know you have to face a couple of bungie employees ( about 3 but you can beat 1 to get the armor) but if you do beat one, it costs 1600 microsoft points to get some of the armor or 4000 microsoft points to get the whole ball of wax. But is there a way to get it for free?

You could become a bungie employee.Other than that you have to pay.
