How do I get kills in Halo 3?

I like Halo 3 but I'm constantly dying I don't camp I get my kills but I need to know some tips or best weapon or something thanks to the people who answered.

Get into a good hideout and pull out ur sniper rifle
and snipe people if you dont like that sorta action
get a machin sorta gun or mabey a shotty and shot people up close and learn ur grounds well that will give you a good advantage.. good luck and dont let people call you noob cause that word anoying the **** out of me lol good luck
