how do u make halo 3 montages?

i wanna make a halo 3 montage but don't wanna spend money on recorders is there any cords i can buy and any free programs i can download to make a montage?
and if there is no other way what can i buy and how do you use it cuz im very new to this?

No. You need to buy a TV tuner card which sends signals from the TV to the computer

BUT!

There is free software, if you are on a PC you can use Windows Movie Maker where you can add audio and text.
