How do you play in Halo 3 without a reticle on your screen?

I have searched and there is no way you can do this without some sort of secret process. It is possible, I know that, I have seen several VoD's where people do not have one.

You can play campaign mode (offline or online) without a targeting reticle when you activate the Blind skull. This doesn't work on multiplayer though.
