how do you take screen shots and videos on halo 3?

i went to the share data thingy on halo 3 and it said that you can view screen shots and videos but i don't know how to do so. do i have to press a certain button or have a special device or what?

In your main menu, you go to the top, select switch lobby, go to theater.
Then you can watch your recent games, then the game will give you instructions on how to do those things.
