go to xbox.com you can print of a free shipping label and if you put in the serial number from your xbox in it will tell you your warranty options, for the red ring its an extended 3 yeat warranty you can send it in and they will fix it, and if you need to call there is a number on the site

One thing to check before making that shipping decision is to find out that if it did not overheat, then it could be your power supply unit. Try plugging your 360 into a buddies and see if it works, if so, its your power supply, but if not, then it is your 360.
