If churches have "Halo Nights," should they also have Porn movies?

The popular video game, "Halo Nights" is being used by Protestant churches to lure young people into attending services. Halo III is a popular video game, with sales reaching $300,000 and features bloody war, violent and brutal. Ministers rationalize this by saying they have to use any means necessary to lure young boys into attending services. The question is...if "Thou Shalt Not Kill" can be ignored, can other means at their disposal...Porn movies or Snuff films, for instance, be as effective? Should churches forget the instructions of Christ to lure young people into attending? How can churches teach morality and integrity if they stoop to such behavior? Has religion become synonymous with sin?

Paid clergy need to keep the money coming in even if they are hurting their church members. This is not an indictment of all religions or even of all paid clergy. It is simply structural conflict of interest that exists in many churches. Some preachers are good at resisting the temptation. I am condemning the end justifies the means approach but I do not agree that there is parity between pornography and video game violence. While both are destructive, pornography is far far more destructive.

The church will go to any means to spread thier falsities and dichotomy to the youth. The youth of this country are growing more intelligent and seeing the church for what it really is a brain washing money machine. THe church will stop at nothing to bring in more children therefore bringing in more money. I can't beleive this surprises anyone. IF you think the church's main goal is to educate and enlighten then you need to be enlightened to the opposite fact..

OUCH! I have to agree. I had not heard of such a thing and I find it, well, disgusting. If churches want to entice young people into attending church or other church-related activities, I think they should find other ways. If I were a member of such a church, I think I might have more than just a few words with my minister. If the activity continued, I would have to move my membership elsewhere!
