it or do I have to buy live? Do I have to buy "PC Live", or can I just atuomaticly play multiplayer upon buying the game? No guesses please, only sure-fire answers.

Games for Windows Live is free membership, no fees. What you need is to install:

GFW Live client - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=128962 to enable online play.

Halo 2 patch - http://www.microsoft.com/games/halo2/default.aspx
