In Halo 3 when you find the skulls what are you supposed to do with them?

found the skull in the sierra just dont know what to do with it
and will it notify me about what it does
and what do you get for the blind skull

there are 13 skulls. 9 gold and 4 silver.(not really) gold get achivements and silver unlcoks stuff. if you get 5 skulls you get the haybusa body armor. 9 skulls g ets haybusa shoulder armor. all skulls get haybusa helmet. also when you play campaign you can activate them by clicking "a" and it makes stuff harder. ex. grunt birthday party skull makes connfedee come out of grunts when you shoot them and you here kids in the backround yelling yayy. sometimes it effects what the monsters do or there is this one skull that makes you invisible at all time but everyone can see you. you cant see your health, ammo, grenades, or the cross hair and you dont know what wepons you have. it makes campaign extra hard.

You have to hold them for around 3 seconds. if they are gold you will get an achievement. if they are silver you will unlock bonus stuff for campaing. its kind of confusin because they are all the same color. try to find all 13. (9 gold- 4 silver)
