Is call of duty multiplayer like halo 3 multiplayer?

I'm a fan of call of duty 5 and 4 on xbox360 and was wondering if halo is just like a game where every one starts out with the exact same weapons then go around the map and pick up the other weapons or is it like call of duty and you rank up and use stratedgy and diffrent guns at the beginning? So if it is most like call of duty then I will probably buy it. So if you could help me I would apretiate it.

Nah halo is where everyone starts out with the same gun. Depending on the game mode your playing. You go find the weapons on the map. Mostly people use an rifle and then beat down.

Halo is nothing like CoD5 except for the fact that you shoot guns. CoD you get weapons based on rank. Halo weapons are map based. CoD killing style is a lot more realistic than Halo. Halo it can take numerous shots to kill as opposed to CoD. Both are great games though!

It is a game in which everyone starts with a certain weapon/weapons, and goes out and picks up a selection of weapons that spawns on the map. There is a ranking system for leveling up, but it isnt nearly as cool, or as rewarding as CoD's. I wouldn't really suggest getting halo3, or ODST, as CoD4: Modern Warfare 2 is coming out on 11-10-09, so I would just save my money for that instead.
