Should I buy Halo 3 or Halo 3 ODST?

I know Halo ODST campaign is short (don't have the game but a LOT of people say it is) but Halo 3 has a longer campaign. Halo ODST has has a second disk with all halo 3 ODST maps plus 3 new maps. It has new weapons but a lot say the game sucks, but some people say its cool, and firefight is awesome! Halo 3 has more people online (i think).

So should I buy Halo 3 ODST or Halo?

The only real difference is the campaign. If you are mainly looking to play that, I would go with halo 3. The multiplayer is the same. The 2nd disc with ODST is the halo 3 multiplayer with all the previously released map packs included. The multiplayer modes play together, so the number of people playing them is the same. Because of the added bonus of fire fight (assuming you play online) I would recommend ODST, then rent halo 3 to play through the campaign.

okay, first, I don't have ODST and I do not plan to get it. I've played Halo 3 since the beginning and already bought the maps, if I get ODST, I just wasted some points.
Next, the campaign in Halo games DO NOT MATTER. I only play matchmaking. Campaign is good for getting achievements and armor but that's it.
Third, Matchmaking makes that halo games. I recommend ODST for that. ODST and Halo 3 share the same matchmaking (like if I had ODST and you have 3 than we can still find each other on matchmaking) so whoever told you halo 3 has more people online is a dumb*** !!! they have the same number of people. I just recommend it because it has all the maps for you and you can play games that require the ODST mythic disk. Many of the double experience games require that disk and if you have ODST, you can do them.
If you were to choose between them, get ODST for the matchmaking. Firefight is also fun.
But I recommend getting both though to get every armor and achievement and maybe you can get recon armor. (look it up if you don't know what it is)

Get ODST it's pretty much HALO 3
