What map packs do you need to buy to play ranked matchmaking on halo 3?

I have already got the Heroic Map Pack and the Cold Storage Map but i am unable to play ranked matches. Do I need to buy the Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack, the Halo 3 Legendary Map Pack, or both.

I believe the only things you can play ranked with those maps are Lone Wolves and Squad Battle. You need the other two map packs you listed to play all playlists, including all the ranked ones.

i think you can only do squad battle and lone wolf with those packs as i have the same packs as you.

if you want to play other gametypes highlight them in your selection and it will tell you what map packs are neede.

buying legendary will give you access to most mythic is only required for a few playlists compared to legendary and you would be better off waiting for halo3:ODST so you get all the maps with odst plus 3 newer maps that have not been released

when selecting game type in the box at the right it lists which maps are needed to play that game type . hope this helps
