What's the deal here? Can someone help me find closure on this Halo 3 Action...

...Figure ordeal? Alright, one night a few weeks ago I went to Wal*Mart just to browse around. Between the electronics and the toy aisle I discover a whole bunch of Halo 3 Action Figures on display. They were made by Todd Mcfarlene(sp) and had different Spartan Armors and stuff. Two days later I grab my wallet and head over there to purchase a figure, they were all gone without a trace. Disapointed, I went to a different Wal*Mart and they were'nt there either. I asked someone in the toy aisle what happened to him, and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I want one of these figures really bad, but I faced the fact I won't be getting one anytime soon. I just want to know...Why? Where did they go? How did they just vanish in just one day?
Can anyone help me out here?

I saw them at Target as well. They were in the discount aisle, and I believe they cost like $5?
