When I create an Xbox live account. Will people see my halo 3 name, or gamer tag?

Hey everyone I was just wondering since I'm going to be getting XBox Live pretty soon.

When I create my Xbox live gamer tag will that be what everyone sees me as on Xbox live, or will they also see me as my Halo 3 Character's name, if so is there a way to change that? I don't want people to see my character name, because I don't like it anymore, and I'd rather people see just my Gamertag. Also they won't see my Gamer Profile name will they?

I'm not quite sure what you mean with the M25, and G13 stuff..

It's for everything. Gamertags are universal.

A Gamer Profile Name and a Gamertag are the same thing

When you sign up to LIVE you will be asked to create a GamerTag, this is the name everyone will see (they won't see your Halo 3 character's name) as GTs are universal. Everyone will be able to see your Gamer Profile (depending on your privacy settings)

well if ur playi live then u hav to sign in to xbox dashboard.tht means when u play live they will see ur gamertag.but when ur actually playin the game on live above ur guy it will say ex. m25 or g13.if u dnt understand then message back
