Will I be wicked confused if I buy Halo 3 before the other ones?

I'm thinking about buying an Xbox 360 Elite because of the price drop. So does it matter if I buy Halo 3 before Halo 1 or 2? Like will I be confused during the campaign of Halo 3 because I haven't played through the Halo 1 or 2 campaigns?

no not at all i got a xbox 360 the first game i got was halo 3 i have never even seen the others halos so no

Halo is quite a straightforward game, so you shouldn't be too confused. There are some things which you might not understand, but that was the case for most people when it came out, because there was a gap between Halo 2 and 3 which was bridged by a comic series. If you didn't read that, some things made little sense, but not enough to impact the game. The plot is quite in depth if you look into it all, but very simple and easy to understand from any point.
