Will master chief die at the end of Halo 3?

I heard many opinions about it some say Master Chief will die and some say he won't who is correct.
P.S. I ask because I don't have xbox 360 yet.

no he doesnt die it looks like he dies but then after the credits theres anther video of him alive and then he goes into a cahmber thing and says wake me when you need me and then blasts off in space in his chamber thing then it end
