Xbox 360- Halo 3 Question?

I just got my Xbox Elite yesterday i got 2 game Skate 2 and Halo 3, in halo 3 i try to play online but i cant play like team death match only slayer? I think i have to level up to unlock those games, i dont know please tell me how i can play like team deathmatch or the other games because it says "one ore more players do not have the maps required to [play in this playlist what does that mean? thanks

You have to buy the new maps in order to play those game-types. Go to the Online Marketplace by hitting start and then selecting Marketplace. Then download the Mythic, Legendary, and Heroic map packs. They shouldn't be too expensive anymore.
