Xbox 360: Will I enjoy Halo 3 without completing Halo 1 and 2?

Some months ago I played Halo 1 on my Xbox but since I've packed it away I never finished the game.

I'm thinking of buying Halo 3, but does it affect not having played the previous titles?

Halo: Reach demo was addictive and Halo 4 demo really eye catching, although I'm not a fan I'm starting to like Halo series a lot.
