Can a Xbox 360 core system play games like Halo 3, Bioshock etc.?

I was reading about the core system and it says that you start with the basics and the system is expandable. I was wondering if playing games like Halo and others is part of that expandability. If it is than that means buying the system and then having to buy expanding accessories just to play games.

This is absolutely untrue, you do not need a hard drive to play 360 games not even halo 3 but it does give you a notable advantage by reducing loading times. I have tested personally both Bioshock and Halo 3 on the arcade version (replaced the core) and both ran flawlessly. Without a hard drive you will not be able to download xbox originals from xbox market place because they are too large for memory cards. Seriously though for the price of a memory card you can get a used 20GB from gamestop.

Yes it can. But it can't play Xbox original game like the Premium or elite can. Hope this helps
