Halo 3 Mythic disc not working?

I've been having troubles with my Mythic Disc these past few days, when it loads it says 'Insert into an Xbox 360 console' followed with some Asian writing. I would've (kind of) accepted that my disc is stuffed but I recently found out that my friend is having the EXACT same problem. Coincidence is possible but what are the odds of it happening at the same time? Does anybody else have this problem?

I am not having this problem. But an easy fix for Xbox 360 discs that don't work is to either rent, borrow or somehow get your hands on another disc for that game and just install it to the Xbox hard drive. Then give the disk you borrowed/rented back. After doing this you can play the game as much as you want with the broken disc in the drive! (The Xbox just needs an official copy of the disc when it is installed to the hard drive, it doesn't matter it if it scratched or others messed up).
To install games to the hard drive with the NXE
1. Put disc in
2. Go to dashboard
3. Go to the game tab (where you would normally start the game by pressing the "A" button)
4. Press the "Y" button
5. Go down and press install
6. The Xbox will take care of the rest. Most games take about 6 gigs to install
