Why did Season 2 receive a stronger critical reception than Season 1?

From my own perspective after watching both the season 1 and 2 of Halo TV shows, I would say that there was so many pitfalls in season 2. The biggest one was having Master Chief be out of his amour for a long time in show. Also, his obsession with Makee in didn't go well with me.

What are your own thoughts about this?

Honestly, I haven't got any clue why this happened. I was very satisfied with how season 2 turned out. I hope season 3 will be announced and start filming soon.

I think it's just bad scripting of the plot that went wrong with season 2. They really need to bring the show back on track for season 3 in order to make things right.

I don't really know but it was very clear the fans weren't happy with whatever they did with the storyline in season 2. I was hoping they are going to correct it in season 3.

Season 2 had some issues especially with Master Chief being out of his armor for so long and I guess the fans were not happy with it and also there's no fault with his focus on Makee.

I think the first season handled his character and the storyline much better than season 2 but we hope that season 3 will be more better.

The only way forward is for them to renew for the third season and right the wrong of what happened in season 2. If they don't, the show will always be bad in the eyes of fans.
