Find Cortana? Halo 3 Help!?

Yesh. I'm back. Okay, this time I need help with Halo 3. On Mission 8: Find Cortana, I'm having some issues. I'm at the place with the giant purple stand thing in the middle...and I keep on going in circles! I can't find the way out, and I don't know what to do!

I heard that I was supposed to shoot this thing with a flame-thrower...but is that true? Please help! I can go for Walkthroughs, maps, anything! Just HELP!

You are in one of two places...

The first one there are enemies in the room that you have to fight off. There is a door on the opposite side that you came in on. Beat the guys and go through the door.

The second, you walk into an open room and pretty much the only thing in the room is a purple stand/table. This is where Cortana is and it is the end of the level. Go up to the table and press RB (the weapon reload button). It should cut to a clip of Master Cheif and the level will be over.
